For Referrers
Mind Over Matter Psychological Services accepts referrals from GPs, solicitors, insurers, rehabilitation providers and other professionals. We are based in Kingswood, Western Sydney.
Clinical referrals
Clinical referrals may involve psychological assessment and treatment, trauma and PTSD, psychological injury, workers compensation, rehabilitation and other presentations within the psychologist’s professional scope.
Helpful referral information includes the presenting concerns, relevant diagnoses or medical issues, treatment history, medications where relevant, current functional concerns, the purpose of referral and any applicable funding or approval information.
Workers compensation and rehabilitation
For workers compensation matters, please provide the claim details, insurer or case-manager contact information, treatment approval where available, current certificate or capacity information where relevant, and any rehabilitation or return-to-work material necessary to understand the referral.
Court and medico-legal referrals
For court or medico-legal work, a clear written referral or letter of instruction is preferred. Please identify the questions to be addressed, relevant deadlines or court dates, and provide the material necessary to answer the referral questions.
Relevant material may include police or agreed facts, prior reports, medical and psychological records, criminal history where relevant, pleadings or other factual material, and information about any existing treating relationship.
Reports are prepared objectively. They distinguish between documented fact, allegation, self-report, clinical observation, inference and professional opinion, and identify relevant limitations or treating relationships where applicable.
Section 14 matters
For a Section 14 referral, please include the next court date, relevant facts, criminal history where applicable, prior mental-health material and any information relevant to a proposed treatment or support plan.

Urgent matters
If a matter has a court date, insurer deadline or other time-sensitive requirement, please identify that date when making the referral. Acceptance of an urgent referral depends on clinical and administrative capacity and the volume of material requiring review.
