Psychological Services and Fees

Mind Over Matter Psychological Services provides evidence-based psychological assessment, counselling and treatment for a range of mental health, trauma-related, adjustment-related and stress-related concerns.

Services may include:

  • Psychological assessment
  • Psychological counselling and treatment
  • EMDR therapy
  • Clinical hypnosis, where clinically appropriate
  • Court, medico-legal and psychological reports

Standard Consultation Fees

Weekday appointments are charged at $250 per hour.

Appointments from 5:00pm onwards are charged at $270 per hour.

Saturday appointments are charged at $270 per hour.

Short consultations are available where clinically appropriate:

  • 30-minute consultation: $150
  • 30-minute consultation after 5:00pm or on Saturday: $180

If you have a current Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate. A receipt can be provided for Medicare claiming.

Letters and Reports

Brief clinical letters commence from $165 inclusive of GST.

Court and medico-legal psychological reports commence from $3,135 inclusive of GST.

A 50% deposit is required to secure the assessment appointment. The remaining balance is payable before the report is released.

Report fees may vary depending on the complexity of the matter, the volume of material to be reviewed, urgency, psychometric testing, and communication with solicitors, barristers, insurers or other parties.

Reports required at short notice may incur an additional urgent report fee.

The first reasonable amendment to a report is included. Further amendments, additional file review, addendum reports, solicitor conferences or additional correspondence may be charged in 30-minute increments.

Court Attendance

Court attendance is charged at $3,000 per day, payable at least two business days in advance.

Hourly court attendance, conferences, subpoena-related work or preparation time may be charged at the applicable professional rate where appropriate.

Workers Compensation

For accepted or provisionally accepted workers compensation claims, there is generally no out-of-pocket cost to the worker for approved psychological treatment.

Fees for workers compensation matters are charged in accordance with the applicable SIRA fee schedule and insurer approval requirements.
